Barcelona's desire to sign Marcus Rashford imminently is reportedly due to two key reasons.
Mail Sport reported earlier this month that Barca have held meetings with Rashford's entourage, with a flock of European admirers courting the Manchester United man.
Rashford made a “come find me” plea in December when he admitted he is “ready for a new challenge” in an explosive interview with Henry Winter.
It is understood that Barcelona have always been Rashford's preference, but given his £350,000-a-week salary, they would have to negotiate the financial burden of a loan deal.
The Catalan giants are said to be particularly keen on sealing a deal quickly because they feel Borussia Dortmund could swoop in and sign him, according to SPORT.
The Spanish outlet also says that Barca boss Hansi Flick is a big admirer of Rashford.

German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung has suggested that manager Nuri Sahin, who used to play for Liverpool, could be sacked ahead of their Champions League trip to Bologna on Tuesday.
Other reports have stated that this match is essential for Sahin to save his position.
Last season, Dortmund secured a short-term loan for Jadon Sancho after he similarly fell out of favor with Red Devils bosses.
