Avert your eyes and ears, Bills Mafia…NFL legend Rod Woodson told TMZ Sports Lamar Jackson is the MVP this year — not Josh Allen.
According to the former Baltimore Ravens defenseman, it's not particularly close either.
“There’s no question in my mind,” the Hall of Famer said this week, “Lamar Jackson is the MVP.”
Allen was the betting favorite for the NFL's top honor for most of this season – especially a few weeks ago – but with Jackson finishing the year strong, it's essentially become a coin toss.
Woodson — who currently works as a color commentator for the Ravens — said this week he would vote for Lamar … and explained that the stats tell the whole story.
“39 passing touchdowns at 26?” Woodson said. “For me, that’s disheartening.”
Lamar outperforms Allen in almost every major category (except rushing touchdowns) … despite playing in more games than the Buffalo superstar.
Woodson said his opinion is in no way a reflection on Josh – in fact, he told us that “I love him a lot” for the Bills quarterback – he just thinks Lamar was that good.
I call this the “MVP sequence” for Lamar

As for the Baltimore signal-caller's team, Woodson said, with or without the MVP trophy on their mantle … no team wants to see the Ravens in the playoffs next month.
“Once the postseason gets here,” he said, “I don’t think anyone wants to face the Baltimore Ravens.”
