- Ruben Amorim admits the “risk” of not signing a striker in the transfer window
- Man United spent only £ 31 million on defenders Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven
- Listen now: Everything is starting! We need Arsenal's personality! This needle is what the Premier League is about
Ruben Amorim admits that Manchester United has assumed a “risk” by not signing a striker in the January transfer window and that the decision could put the club “danger.”
United limited their expenses to £ 31 million in defenders Patrick Dorgu and Ayden Heaven despite allowing strikers Marcus Rashford and Antony to lend Aston Villa and Real Betis.
Amorim insists that United made the decision to wait until summer instead of wasting its adjusted budget in the signings that do not fit the profile of the player he wants. But the head of United admitted that it entails a risk element with his team 13 at the Premier League table.
He said: “I know when I chose this profession that you have the risk of results, and I knew that when I came here I looked at the schedule, I looked at the team, it was my decision and changing everything in the middle of the season without new signings is a danger to a coach .
'But I have a clear idea of what I want to do and take these risks because in the end it will bear fruit. But I am not naive, I said that many times, this is a sport of results and we are in a difficult situation.
'What I feel is that the club is taking its time. We know the urgency of the team's moment, but all here do not want to make the same mistakes of the past. In the summer we will see, but as I said, we are very careful with transfers because we made some mistakes in the past.

'I think it's a difficult time to change things in just a few games. It will be so, very difficult until the end of the season. We are taking that risk you are talking about. We want a different thing in the team and profiles, in that area, and it was my decision to do it.
'We are taking some risks, but it is the way we want to continue. We want to win some games and we have time to train because I'm always complaining about it. I want a certain type of players with a different profile and we are changing immediately. '
