Rubén Amorim has revealed how Manchester United players have responded when he calls them 'the worst team' in the club's history.
Amorim made the alarming comment after United suffered a seventh defeat in 15 games under their new head coach against Brighton on Sunday. The 39-year-old also damaged a television in the dressing room during a post-match rant at Old Trafford.
“We are perhaps the worst team in Manchester United's history,” Amorim admitted after the match.
Now, however, after suggesting that he regretted the call, he has detailed how the players themselves responded to the claim.
'Good. 'They know me,' he said. 'It is easier for them to recognize what I say than for other people.
'I don't control what people think and say. It was kind of my fault creating all that. It's history, it's in the past, so let's focus on the next game today. Really important.
“We need to win, have time to train, escape the play-offs and have that feeling we need, especially at home.”
