Ryan Seacrest opens up about the hardest part of his New Year's Eve hosting gig… and it has everything to do with his post-ball meal.
We caught up with the “American Idol” host in New York City ahead of his annual appearance as host of “Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve” … where he made it clear that he loves counting down to the new year every year to be cited December 31st.
However, Ryan said his job had one downside: His hosting duties meant he couldn't eat until 1:30 a.m.
RS confessed that he often “ends up hungry,” especially since not many restaurants are open in the early hours of the New Year… even in the city that never sleeps.
Ryan says he's still trying to figure out where to go when the TV special ends… and is open to suggestions.

When our photographer Ryan suggested we stop by Applebee's in the Big Apple after production wrapped, the TV personality said he wouldn't rule it out — and even requested a “pu-pu platter” of the restaurant's best entrees.
We're sure Applebee's would be willing to make arrangements for Ryan.
Aside from early morning meals, Ryan shared that he's also focused on celebrating Wheel of Fortune's 50th anniversary in 2025.
