  • It included being guilty of inappropriate behavior in 2024
  • Has received a path back to AFL with strict conditions

The star of the Sacked Kangaroos, Tarryn Thomas, has been given a way back to AFL after being forced to sit the entire 2024 season after multiple indiscretions that involve women.

The AFL has awarded the problematic former midfielder center to train and play for a VFL club not aligned in 2025.

This would mean that it would be eligible to play for clubs such as Coburg, Frankston, Northern Bullants, Port Melbourne, Southport Sharks, Werribee and Williamstown.

I could also choose to play for a WAFL or Sanfl club that is not aligned with an AFL team.

It is a big step forward for the 24 -year -old who had secret conversations with St Kilda in 2024, only to open because AFL insisted that a contract would not be registered.

It comes after it was discovered that Thomas got involved in inappropriate behavior towards a woman, which led to a suspension of 18 games by AFL.

After this, North Melbourne Football Club ended its contract, citing multiple behavior violations that involve women.

Despite undergoing behavioral education programs ordered by AFL, Thomas continued to exhibit behavior.

In May 2024, he was accused of using a telecommunications service to harass a woman and violate a court order.

He declared himself guilty of violating the court order and was put in a bonus of good behavior of 12 months.

The AFL has published a statement by saying that it will use the decision to monitor Thomas's behavior that will issue future decisions about its eligibility of play.

“The AFL has stayed up to date with the progress of Thomas, which has included its completion of a comprehensive education and change of behavior program, and, more importantly, a change consisting of its behavior for a period of time” Said the statement.

Although, according to the reports, Thomas hopes to be available for the mid -season AFL draft, the league closed the door of that possibility.

'To be clear, Thomas is not approved to play in the AFL competition in 2025 or for any club with an AFL affiliation in a state league competition, however, as part of its rehabilitation, it has been approved to play in competitions Football below the AFL '', 'Read the statement.

'Nor will it be eligible for the mid -season draft of AFL 2025. A decision has not been made in relation to Thomas's eligibility to play at AFL in 2026 or later and that issue is not currently in consideration.'
