The Chelsea star, Sam Kerr, has broken her silence after the 31 -year -old was authorized by racially aggravated harassment of a police officer.

Kerr called PC Stephen Lovell 'Stupid and White' during a heated entrada at the Twickenham Police Station in January 2023.

The Australian soccer star had made the comments after she and her fiancé Kristie Mewis had thought they were being kidnapped by a taxi driver after a night in London.

Speaking today after the trial, Kerr reaffirmed that he had not “tried to insult or harm anyone” with the comments.

'Following today's non -guilty verdict, I can finally leave this challenging period behind.

'While I apologize for expressing myself badly in what was a traumatic night, I have always argued that I did not intend to insult or harm anyone and I am grateful that the jury agreed unanimously.

“I would like to thank my partner Kristie, my family, my friends and all fans for their love and support, especially those who attended the Court every day.”

Sam Kerr insisted that he was “completely concentrated in returning to the field” after he was authorized as racially aggravated harassment of a police officer on Wednesday.

Kerr has not played football for Chelsea or Matildas in more than a year after suffering an anterior cross ligament injury.

Chelsea Chief, Sonia Bompastor, had suggested that the striker could be ready to return to action in February or March.

She added: “I am completely concentrated in returning to the field and I look forward to an exciting year for me and my family.”
