Sam Kerr's parents, Roger and Roxanne, have spoken with the media after the Matildas star was authorized by racially aggravated harassment of a police officer after an incident in a taxi in London in January 2023.
The 31 -year -old high -profile judicial case has caught the attention of many commentators both in the United Kingdom and Australia in the last two weeks, with questions about Kerr's future.
Kerr's parents, who traveled to London to keep their daughter during the judicial case, spoke with journalists outside their home.
“We are happy that the case of the court is made and dusty and now is behind it,” Roxanne told Newswire.
“Sam felt supported throughout the trial.”
After one night in London, it is understood that Kerr has vomited while inside the back of a taxi. But after a disagreement for a cleaning charge, the driver of the vehicle took her and her fiance Kristie Mewis, who expects the first child of the couple this year, to the Twickenham police station.

The couple said they feared that the taxi driver was kidnapping them with Mewis, who plays for West Ham and the United States, kicking a windi window.
In the police station, Kerr was involved in a heated discussion with PC Stephen Lovell, which was captured in images of the body of the body. During the clip that was shown to the Court, Chelsea striker is heard calling the “stupid and white” officer.
Since then, Kerr apologized for the incident and insisted that he had not wanted to cause offense or discomfort.
“After the non -guilty verdict, I can finally leave this challenging period behind,” said Chelsea star.
“While I apologize badly for what was a traumatic night, I have always argued that I did not intend to insult or harm anyone and I am grateful that the jury agreed unanimously.”
Despite the non -guilty verdict, the calls have arrived in Kerr to be stripped of Matildas captaincy of the football commentator Lucy Zelic and former Socceroo Bruce Djite.
Football Australia has not yet confirmed whether Kerr will remain as a pattern, since he continues to recover from a LCA injury suffered in a Chelsea training camp in January last year.

Sermanni confirmed that he and Kerr had been in contact by text since his trial ended.
