Scottie Scheffler has been forced to withdraw from the first PGA tournament of the year and undergo surgery after cutting his hand on some broken glass while preparing Christmas dinner.
Scheffler was scheduled to compete in the 2025 season opener, The Sentry, Jan. 2-5 in Hawaii.

'On Christmas Day, while preparing dinner, Scottie suffered a puncture wound to the palm of his right hand from broken glass. “Small shards of glass were left in the palm of his hand, requiring surgery,” Scheffler's manager, Blake Smith, said in a statement Friday.
'They have told him he should be back to 100% in three or four weeks. Unfortunately, he will have to retire from The Sentry. Their next scheduled tournament is the American Express.
