Seahawks defensive tackle Byron Murphy II After taking his teammates out to dinner this week, he nearly had a panic attack… when his fellow Seattle players pocketed a whopping $155,000 – all before he discovered it was a scam.
The Seahawks had one last game before their Week 18 game against the LA Rams…they visited Ascend Steak & Sushi to devour everything they could get their hands on – including expensive alcohol.
When it came time to pay, the players presented Murphy with the damage and showed him a fake receipt for $155,000.
His teammates really got it… and reacted in absolute shock when his eyes doubled in size. Some uttered an “Oh, shit!!”
Eventually, Murphy got in on the joke… and received the REAL bill – just over $38,000. Still not cheap, but much better than originally thought.
The first-round pick signed a four-year, $16 million deal with the Hawks … so it's nice to know that even though he has some money, he's not $155,000 less rich now.
