- The Linchpins of roosters and sharks have been blind
- The pairs are two of the highest profile stars in the NRL
James Tedesco and Niche Hynes have been blank by the new head of the NSW State of Origin team in a worrying sign for two of the NRL's most important names just weeks at the beginning of the season.
The Blues incoming coach, Laurie Daley, held a meeting on Saturday with the 28 players she is looking for for the selection in this year's interstatal series, and the stars of Roosters and Sharks did not receive an invitation.
Daley, who is replacing Michael Maguire, said that 'nothing is blocked now' before the meeting, but the fact that Tedesco (23 games for NSW) and Hynes (two games) do not even qualify a mention sends a clear message.
The Fullback of the Roosters was not originally selected for the game last year, but entered the side when Dylan Edwards was injured.
Then it was not selected for the two and three games, since the Penrith No.1 opted for its claim to the place in what seemed to be equivalent to a change of guard.
Tedesco reacted by saying: “I really did not expect to return after Dyl (Edwards) was in form and was going to play.”

The same shocking news applies to Niche Hynes (in the photo with his girlfriend Piper Wallis)
Hynes was appointed as Halfback for the great defeat against Queensland in game one, then he was not sighted again when his replacement, Mitchell Moses, from Parramatta, played a crucial role in the blues winning the next two games to take the series.
He was also abandoned on the NSW side in 2023 after playing only 12 minutes from the bank.
“This is what I will be looking for, what are my values as coach, the things that could see the same as” Madge “(Maguire) or different from Madge,” Daley said NOTS CORP on the meeting.
'We could easily choose a player who is not in this 28 because, in reality, we could choose 50 players to enter.
“Last year there were several players who were not in the original team that ended up playing in the series … If you are playing well, you will be considered.”
At 32, Tedesco approaches the twilight of his long and successful career, and Edwards, which has been outstanding for Penrith during his first four consecutive reward career, will be difficult to dismiss.
Tedesco that is overlooked for the meeting is another sign that his long streak of representing his condition could now have finished
Hynes, however, is 28 years old and has the Dally M 2022 medal as the best player of the game in his trophy cabinet, but fought with an injury and an inconsistent form last season, since he helped the sharks to a quarter end .
With Moses playing with a high level for the blues last year and Nathan Cleary almost certainly will be chosen for the first time as MedioBack if he is in shape, in addition to Jarome Luai keeping the place of five eighths, Hynes has a mountain to go up to force your way back the side.
Daley also revealed that NSW will use the blue mountains as their base for this year after the change west of the usual preparations in Coogee was well received by the players and the staff.
This year's origin series begins on May 28 at the Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, with game two on June 18 and the third rubber at the Sydney Accor stadium on July 9.
