Shocking moment: Lions fans stomp on man's head after he 'disrespected a woman' in stands during playoff game

A gruesome fan brawl at Ford Field has gone viral on social media following the top-seeded Detroit Lions' surprising playoff loss to the visiting Washington Commanders on Saturday.

The Divisional Round upset was bad enough for the home fans, but things got even worse when two separate groups of spectators became tangled on a ladder during the game.

A man at the bottom of the pile seemed to receive most of the abuse. He was seen shielding his face with his arms around the base of a handrail as others did their best to stomp and punch the frightened man.

'Stop talking shit to women, b****!' A voice could be heard shouting off camera as security separated the combatants.

“They knocked you out,” another added, apparently referencing a scene from a popular 1995 Ice Cube movie. “They knocked you out like it was Friday.”

DailyMail.com has contacted the team and local police for more information. For now, all that is known comes from cell phone footage and the people who posted the clips on social media.

The fight allegedly started with someone disrespecting a woman, but details are still scarce.

A cameraman credited with filming the fight claims the mob victim was not a Lions or Commanders fan, but a San Francisco 49ers fan.

In addition, they repeated the accusation that the man at the bottom of the pile had instigated the fight.

“Maybe don't disrespect women and then punch someone and this wouldn't happen,” reads a post from someone with the alias: @zelly_bean.

Other images from the same end zone show insults hurled from several rows away.

The fight comes at another low point for fan behavior across the NFL.

Last week, Philadelphia Eagles fan Ryan Caldwell was filmed abusing a female Packers fan in a video that subsequently went viral. He called her an 'ugly, dumb whore,' and has since lost her job and been banned from returning to Lincoln Financial Field.

Caldwell is seen yelling at the woman, who is wearing a Packers hat, from his seat.

It was the latest controversy involving Eagles fans and cemented the notion, at least in the eyes of their rivals, that these fans are aggressive, nasty and even violent.

But another narrative emerged online after the brawl at Ford Field, with social media critics claiming that Lions fans are even worse than those in Philadelphia.

“Moral of the story is don't go to Detroit,” one person wrote on X. “Worst NFL fans when it comes to watching a road game.” I was just at the Seahawks game this year and it was pathetic. Fights everywhere. “I'm glad you lost (the game) and I hope your (Super Bowl) window is closed.”

“The only moral of the story here is that the lions are really coming for Philly in terms of the worst fan base in the league,” another added. 'In such a short time too. Pathetic.'
