- Sam Kerr was authorized of racially aggravated harassment earlier this week
Sonia Bompastor has revealed that Chelsea will not take any disciplinary measure against Sam Kerr.
It occurs after the 31 -year -old was authorized by racially aggravated harassment of a police officer earlier this week.
Kerr, who has played for Chelsea since 2019, had called PC Stephen Lovell 'Stupid and White' after a heated discussion at the Twickenham police station in 2023.
The questions have also been increasing in recent days about whether Kerr will continue as the captain of the Matildas after the trial.
In statements to the media on Thursday, Bompastor confirmed that Chelsea would not take more measures against Kerr for the matter, adding that he was “happy” for the striker.
“I think, as you can imagine, it was a difficult week, a difficult week for her and her family,” said Chelsea coach during a press conference on Thursday.
'Sam made a statement, apologized for that and I think that is enough.
'Sometimes you can make mistakes. All, all women can make mistakes. It is what you learn from that and how you advance. But when you know the person who knows he is really kind and may be a moment in his life where something happened and if he has to reflect on that, he will probably say: “I don't want to go through that.” '
Bompastor then declared that the club was only interested in launching its support behind Kerr after the conclusion of the trial.
“Yes, it happens in life and now you must also be forgiven for that and advance,” he said.
'But I think he made a statement and it was clear in his statement, it was clear in his statement and I think that was clear enough. I think what he faced last week was difficult enough for her.
“The only thing we want to do as a club is to support it.”

'Since I joined Chelsea, I know Sam as a player and person, and I was very surprised that she participated in that. Who is she does not reflect what I heard in court and what I was reading in the newspapers.
“Sam acknowledged that sometimes you can make mistakes,” he added.
'But from what I know about her, she is a very pleasant person.
'It's hard for me to understand why it was like that and why he had to spend a week in court. But it is.
“The most important thing is that you can see the future and now not think about that.”
Bompastor also revealed that he had been in contact with Kerr throughout the judicial process.
'I think it is always important to show support to your players. I think Sam felt the support of the entire club, all his teammates and his staff.
'We, probably with her family, are the ones who know her most. And yes, it was difficult to see her in that situation. We are a family and we are really supporting it and I am very happy that the verdict has been positive and now it can advance. ''
He also gave an update when Kerr could return to action for blues, after the Matildas star had been marginalized for more than a year with a LCA injury.
“It's hard to give a really precise period of time for Sam,” said Bompastor.
'Really happy to have her back in the field with us with the team. He has not fully practicing the team and is still being handled and is really individual, each player is different, but it is different to give a frame of time.
“He is progressing with his rehabilitation and going in the right direction.”
