Stephen A. Smith expressed his displeasure over Tyreek Hill's comments about wanting to set the Miami Dolphins straight on Monday's edition of First Take.
The Dolphins' terrible season ended with a playoff loss punctuated by a 20-32 loss to the New York Jets on Sunday.
After the bitter end to the season, Hill suggested he should leave Miami to compete at a higher level in the NFL.
“I just have to do what's best for me and my family,” Hill told reporters after the loss. 'If that's here or wherever that is the case, I'll be able to open that door for myself.
'I'm opening the door. I'm out, brother. “It was great to play here, but at the end of the day, I have to do what's best for my career because I'm too much of a competitor to be out there.”
The next morning, Smith criticized Cheetah for saying he wanted out of the Dolphins.

“To hell with no,” Smith said. “Stay there.”
“Life is a little different when you're not with Patrick Mahomes,” Smith continued. 'We tried to tell you. We don't want to hear about any family now. You have your bag. That's not family, brother. The family is the bag.
'Once you receive the bag, the family will be in charge. “It's about you recognizing that life is a little different when Patrick Mahomes doesn't throw you the ball.”
Hill concluded his third season with the Dolphins after six seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs. After two seasons with more than 100 receptions and 1,700 yards for a combined 20 touchdowns, Hill's numbers this year were his lowest since he moved.
The wide receiver made 81 catches on 123 targets for 959 yards and six touchdowns.
Miami finished its season with an 8-9 record, ranking second in the AFC East.
After reworking his contract last year, Hill remains under contract for the next two seasons, with salary cap hits of $27.7 million (2025) and $51.9 million (2026), via OverTheCap.
Cheetah asked out of the Chiefs, prompting the team to trade him ahead of the 2022 season. Kansas City has won two Super Bowls since Hill left and is on pace to win its third in a row.
