The promising guard Taran Armstrong has joined a growing band of Australians in the ranks of the NBA after signing a bidirectional agreement with the seven times Golden State Warriors champions.
The agreement, which could see Armstrong align with the superstar Steph Curry, is in the back of the second NBL season of 23 years with the Taipans Cairns.
Armstrong averaged 17.1 points, 4.7 assists and 4.6 robberies in 19 games for the last tapans placed, and scored 20 or more points eight times.
This month, Armstrong called on the heads of the NBA scouts when he published the first triple -Doble of her NBL career (28 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds, in the victory of the Taipans over Brisbane.
The Taipans coach Adam Forde, predicted that the dominant performance was a sign of things to come.
“This is just an example of what he is able to do and the evolution of his game from last year until this year,” said Forde after the game.

Armstrong's bidirectional agreement means that he can spend time with Golden State and his G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz warriors.
His agent Daniel Moldovan said the warriors Coached Steve Kerr are perfect for the development of Armstrong.
“Taran's star season saw him receive interest from multiple NBA teams towards the end of the NBL season,” Moldovan told NBL Media.
'Golden State is the perfect program for him to develop from the inside. It has a very bright future.
Armstrong, who grew up in Burnie and attended the Center for Excellence of Basketball Australia when he was a teenager, is the first Tasmania to win an NBA agreement.
