Australian fighter Brock Jarvis suffered a brutal third round by Keith Thurman on Wednesday night.
Thurman attacked Jarvis with a burst of blows in the middle of the round that landed several brutal blows in his abdomen.
The American attacked, landing a blow to the Jarvis temple, before sliding a strong left hook in the Australian, sending it to the ground.
Jarvis, 27, stood up again and had tried to fight, but the fight was exhausted by the referee.
He came later Brendan Bradford by Code Sports He revealed in X that the legendary fighter and coach, Jeff Fenech, who seemed to have separated from Jarvis a month before the fight, “walked through the barricades, grabbed a chair and is now sitting in the ring.”
Fenech got excited on Tuesday when he discussed the deterioration of his training and Jarvis association, adding that there was the possibility that he could still jump the barriers and be on the corner for his prodigy, despite not being part of the fighter's training configuration.
Thurman, meanwhile, extended his fight record at 31-1-0, and this is his first fight in three years after his unanimous decision victory against Mario Barrios.
It was also his first knockout in more than 10 years with the US fighter., 36 years old, who subsequently called the Australian fighter Tim Tszyu.
He was the second fighter to issue a challenge for Tszyu tonight after Michael Zerafa seemed respectfully his compatriot for what he called would be “the biggest fight in Australian boxing.”
Thurman, meanwhile, said: 'I just lifted the bar in you, Tszyu.
'It's three years of inactivity, do you see what I can do? I returned hard baby.
'It will be better for you to think that US combatants are not knocked down by anyone.
'Tim Tszyu, I hope to fight anyone in the world of boxing. If that contract manifests, you know what I am going to do. Send the contract, I will sign it. I will be happy to take the fight.
Tszyu was seen on the big screen at the stadium holding his finger to his mouth telling the American to shut up.
The Australian will first fight against Joey Spencer next month before looking forward at a possible meeting with Thurman.
“I have business to do on April 6, but I'm quite excited,” he said.
'He (Thurman) enters balanced, and when you have a pure boxer, you can exploit that.
'But, easier to say it than to do it. It is a talent, and what he did tonight, is an infernal performance.
