An FA Cup third round match is at risk of being postponed due to adverse weather conditions.
The third round of England's oldest cup competition is always a big weekend on the sporting calendar as Premier League clubs go into battle.
But a top-flight team may not get a chance to play its game yet.
Everton will host League One side Peterborough at Goodison Park tonight at 7.45pm, but there are concerns the game may have to be called off due to icy conditions in the area.
A safety meeting is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. before a final decision is made on whether the match can continue or not.
Everton have issued a statement to reassure fans that they are doing everything possible to allow the match to be played.
An FA Cup match scheduled for this afternoon could be postponed
Everton will host Peterborough, but icy conditions around Goodison Park could force the match to be abandoned.
The statement said: “At this stage, the match is scheduled to proceed as normal and every effort is being made to ensure this remains the case.”
“We will continue to keep fans informed and will provide more information after the meeting.”
This could be Everton's second game in a matter of weeks to be canceled due to the weather.
The Toffees' Merseyside derby against Liverpool was postponed in early December when Storm Darragh hit the area.
That game has not yet been rescheduled.
