Manchester United left-back Tyrell Malacia has become a target for ambitious Italian team Como.

Coach Cesc Fábregas is putting together a competitive squad for Serie A and they have started an investigation to find out the price of the Dutch international.

Malacia joined United from Feyenoord in 2022 for £13million but has struggled for form and fitness and has made just 43 appearances in all competitions despite a promising start.

United are open to offers for all their players and coach Rubén Amorim has targeted the left-back position as a priority to reinforce in the upcoming transfer windows.

Although Luke Shaw will return to fitness later this month, he could still feature at left centre-back.

Paris St Germain's Nuno Mendes was Amorim's ideal target for the job, a player he knows well from their days together at Sporting Lisbon, but such a deal looks increasingly unlikely for this window.

Mendes has refused to sign a new contract with PSG and wants to join United, but under PSR restrictions, it is unlikely that United will be able to match the French club's valuation in this window.

United have also been keeping a close eye on Milos Kerkez at Bournemouth and Lecce's Danish international Patrick Dorgu.
