A consortium led by the former head of the Formula 1 team, Eddie Jordan, has bought the London Irish Rugby Club out of administration.
The former Premier League Club of Gallagher requested the administration in June 2023 after his suspension of all competitions.
Irish had reported debts of around 30 million, and the Rugby Soccer Union confirmed that neither its owner Mick Crossan nor an American consortium that plans to buy the club could show that they had finance to compete in the high flight of the English rugby for The 2023-24 campaign.
Irish became the third victim of a financial crisis that seized the Premier League, which fell to a competition of 10 teams after the collapses of Wasps and Worcester.
Jordan's group, Jordan Associates, says that his goal is to return Irish 'to the rugby pinnacle of the International Professional Club'.
Officially, the new owners are Strangford Ellis Ltd, which is administered by Jordan Associates.

“The main objective of the new property is to return the Irish Rugby Club of London to the rugby pinnacle of the International Professional Club, with the aim of a rapid return to the top -level competition,” said a statement issued by Strangford Ellis.
“The Jordan Associate team will now focus its attention on negotiating a complete and sustainable return for Irish to competitive rugby, hand in hand with the base of followers of London Irish.”
The main partner of Jordan Associates, Kyle Jordan, added: 'We are incredibly excited about this opportunity to lead London Irish towards new heights.
“Our investors contribute not only financial support, but a deep passion for rugby and a commitment to the community and, in particular, they want to reach the global Irish diaspora to build the exile brand.”
And Lee Manning from Evelyn Partners, London Irish Joint Administrator, said: 'We have worked hard throughout this administration to preserve the value of this historic and very dear club.
“Despite a series of false sunrises with respect to the interested parties that express a great interest in acquiring the Irish of London, we are delighted to have found a buyer with plans to revitalize the club.”
