The former NFL star Craig Wolfley dies 66 years

The former Pittsburgh Steelers guard, Craig Wolfley, died Monday at age 66.

Wolfley played for Steelers for 10 seasons and became a very dear television and radio personality after hanging their tacos.

It was the radio analyst at the Steelers since 2022 after replacing his best friend Tank Ilkin, who died in September 2021. Before joining the comment team, Wolfley served as a secondary reporter and worked on his radio transmissions.

In a statement issued on Monday, the owner of the Steelers, Art Rooney, wrote 'We are deeply sad for the death of Craig Wolfley, a beloved member of the Pittsburgh Steelers family.

'Craig was an outstanding player who brought hardness and heart to the field during his 10 seasons with the steelers. As an offensive lin, its determination and dedication were essential for our success, contributing to the solid base of the offensive line of the steelers in the eighties and ninety years.

“His work ethics and his commitment to excellence were felt both in the costumes and in the field, and his leadership was always evident.”

“After his retirement from reproduction, Craig made the transition without problems to a broadcaster, providing insicious comments and analysis as part of the Steelers radio network,” Rooney added. “His passionate voice and his deep understanding of the game made him a confidence figure for Steelers fans, and their humor, warmth and enthusiasm left a lasting impact on our community.”

“On behalf of the entire Steelers organization, we offer our deepest condolences to the family, friends and all those who had the privilege of meeting it.”
