A former player has revealed that he fell in love and married the pet of his club.

Markus Krosche met his partner during his career as a player in the German team Paderborn and, despite the strange costume he was made to use, he fell in love with her.

He made 373 appearances for the club between 2001 and 2014, enjoying his best years in the field, and also helped him find romance in the most peculiar way.

During a casual meeting, Krosche met Viktoria, who occasionally worked as a pet in the first days, wearing a great mouse costume 'Holli'.

Appearing in the podcast 'Phrasenmaher', he shed more light on his history of origin.

“Viktoria worked for an agency that marketed the pet,” Krosche said. 'He worked there at the same time as his studies. This is how we met.

The magic began to grow between the couple and finally married.

He asked him if he had married the pet, a smiling Krosche replied: 'I wouldn't put it like this, but it's true, yes. This is our story.

Holli the pet has long associated with Paderborn. The blue character, complete with a large head and a bright red nose, takes photos with followers inside and around the stadium and seeks to build the atmosphere prior to the game.

Far from his marriage, Krosche is now in the world of football administration.

After playing for only two teams, Paderborn and Werder Bremen II, hung their boots and became the chief coach of Paderborn II.

Then he joined Roger Schmidt as an assistant coach at Bayer Leverkusen for two years.

In March 2017, he became a sports director in Paderborn, who was promoted from the 3rd League to the Bundesliga under his administration.

RB Leipzig then appointed Krosche to become its sports director in July 2019, replacing Ralf Ranggnick. He assumed the same role in Eintracht Frankfurt in 2021.

Krosche assumed his current role in the Frankfurt CEO in July 2023.
