The former Rugby star of Wales, Alix Popham, has revealed that she has no “memory of her career after having more than 100,000 subconcutas.
Popham, 45, played 33 times for Wales and accumulated more than 320 appearances for clubs in his homeland, as well as England and France.
He was diagnosed with early starting dementia in 2020 and now the shirts and medals are his only memories of a 14 -year professional career in Rugby Union.
“My neurologist, when he diagnosed me, had to have more than 100,000 subconscious hits in my brain,” he said Newsnight.
According to Popham, a subconcusion like “when your brain turns inside your skull in each blow.”
It is one of the 560 players who are demanding the bodies of sport government, blaming rugby for paralyzing brain injuries after suffering repeated blows in the head.

In 2023 they alleged that 268 players suffered diseases, including dementia and depression, as a result of the contact that is baked in the game.
While Pohham still has shirts and souvenirs of matches, he said: “Memories, vivid memories of the score, the weather, the stadium, I have no memory of that.”
Popham is the founder of The Head For Change Charity. He has also requested longer prohibitions for red cards for six to eight weeks.
“These players have prohibitions of two or three weeks, which really is not enough to change their habits and, for me, that only shows that the well -being of the player is not their number one priority,” he said.
In 2021, he began to undergo experimental brain treatment in Mexico, carried out by the pioneer of American biotechnology neurocytonix for incurable neurological disorders.
He said in 2023: 'Things are much better. I don't lose my thinking train so much anywhere.
'I could feel positive signs after the third day. I would suffer with headaches in the afternoon during my career and retirement. Some afternoons I would have to lie down in a dark room.
'(The treatment of Mexico) was a very positive step for me. There are so many former players who are fighting, suicides and depressed and we have to give them hope.

Popham noticed for the first time that something was wrong with his health when he could not remember his way home from a bicycle ride.
He was finally diagnosed with early start and probable start dementia.
The treatment in Mexico, which Popham first received in March 2021, is designed to stimulate brain regeneration to restore the structure of the nervous system. It looks like a new approach to the treatment of neurological diseases such as cerebral palsy and traumatic brain lesions.
