The former Manchester United star, Hannibal Mejbri, accused an opponent of making a racist comment during the 0-0 draw of Preston and Burnley in the championship.
The Clarets maintained their eleventh clean blade in a row in the clash of the Second Division on Saturday afternoon, but failed to invent their promotion rivals, since they were held at their 14th raffle of the season.
However, the game in general was eclipsed by the incident between Mejbri and Milutin Osmajic de Preston, who is a 25 -year -old eaves who joined the club in the summer of 2023.
The awkward scenes saw the two players exchange words, with Mejbri against Osmajic until reacting, apparently to something that was said and emitting a complaint.
Mejbri spoke with the referee, manager Scott Parker and other players, with the incident scored and a meeting held after the game.
Osmajic denies the claim, Preston announced, but Mejbri turned to social networks to continue his accusation.
“I will not be silent about what happened today,” the midfielder began in a publication about X. “I will always call racism every time I hear or see it.
'That is the only way we change as sport and society. I am a strong person, but no one should have to experience this unpleasant abuse in the field.
Osmajic 'has strongly refuted the claims of a comment made to Hannibal Mejbri at a meeting after the party with today's party officials,' 'said Preston.
They added: 'Preston North End knows a complaint that Hannibal Mejbri and Burnley FC to today's party officials regarding an accusation of a comment made by Milutin Osmajić during the bail of the Sky Bet championship today in Deepdale.
'The club wishes to thank the party officials for the way they have handled the problem and will help with the investigation until a conclusion has been found.
“No more comments will be made at this time.”
