Cummins, 31, had remained in Australia to welcome his baby to the world, with Steve Smith taking care of the team on his tour of Sri Lanka.
After sealing the 2-0 series on Sunday, with a third and last game in Colombo next week, Smith said that the team has never played so well on the continent during his career.

He published a photo of the team in his History of Instagram, with the legend: “Absolutely bright boys.”
Smith, meanwhile, was also full of praise for his teammates.
“The boys did it as well as I have seen an Australian team do it in the subcontinent since I have been playing,” he said.
