The terrorist who killed at least 10 people in a violent attack in New Orleans early Wednesday had a divorce so acrimonious that his then-wife filed a restraining order against him.
Shamsud Din JabbarSeen above in a video he posted, his wife was in the middle of a divorce during the pandemic Shaneen Chantil JabbarHe went to court to get a restraining order.
We do not have a copy of the wife's petition, but we do have the order of the judge who issued the restraining order. It states, among other things: “Both parties are prohibited from “threatening the other party or a child of a party with physical harm.”
It further prohibits “intentionally, knowingly or recklessly causing bodily harm to the other party or to a child of a party.”
The order also prevents either party from “abandoning the child from the school or daycare center in which the child is currently enrolled.” In addition, it is prohibited to “hide or keep secret the child from the other party” or “remove the child outside the geographical area determined by this court.”
It's not the first problem Jabbar has had with women. We spoke to a previous wife who divorced him in 2016 who told us he was abusive, but didn't want to elaborate.
As we reported, Jabbar plowed his pickup truck into a huge crowd on Bourbon Street and shot two officers before being shot. At least 30 people were injured and 10 killed in the massacre. The authorities found an IS flag in his truck.
