In a statement, Dick said: 'After a greater investigation carried out by the Sheriff's Office of Williamson County and an additional discussion with a witness of a third party, Mr. Worthy and his lawyers, this case is being rejected at this time waiting for the completion of the investigation by the Sheriff's office of the County of Williamson.
'Mister. Worthy and his lawyers are fully cooperating with this investigation. We will continue evaluating the case. As our practice with all decreases, if it develops additional information that indicates a probable cause in this case, our office will consider that information and may present the case at that time to a grand jury of Williamson's county.
Worthy could have faced up to 10 years in prison if they sentenced for the “assault against a family member or home by preventing breathing or circulation”, a serious third grade crime.

'We are working with the police in Williamson County to ensure that they have the benefit of all the circumstances that led to this accusation.
'The plaintiff was recently asked to leave Mr. Worthy's residence when discovering his infidelity. He has refused to do so and made a series of exorctive efforts before resorting to this unfounded accusation against Mr. Worthy.

This marks the second consecutive low season in which a Chiefs receiver has been found in legal problems in Texas.
