The New York Yankees have broken their silence about the absence of the pitcher Marcus Stroman of spring training.
This week, the title holders of the American League went to Tampa to start putting shape for the next season. However, the starting pitcher is nowhere, which caused rumors that protesting in an attempt to be exchanged.
Speaking to the media on Thursday, manager Aaron Boone went to Stroman's absence while pointing how 'uncomfortable' was the situation.
'Obviously, I love all our players here, clearly. That said, I am, again, comfortable with the place where he is physically and mentally, '' said Boone.
'He is a proud player who has had a great career. It is a bit an awkward situation, obviously.
“Of course, I want it here and trying to push it here,” he continued. 'But again, you must also respect the fact that this is something that players can do. There is a mandatory date and you are choosing that at this time.

The Yankees pitcher, Marcus Stroman, has not appeared until the first days of his spring training
Stroman informed Steinbrenner Field on Tuesday for his physique after a postseason in which the Yankees tried and could not change it.
Since then, he has not participated in the first two days of training for pitchers and batters.
According to the rule of the collective bargaining agreement, the date of mandatory report is February 22. A source close to Storman told the New York Post that he plans to report before the first Scread training on Monday.
Boone also admitted to having been in contact with the 33 -year -old man and being aware of his absence before reaching the camp.
'I had an idea when we talked. I knew I could be outside (the) first days, “Boone said. 'But nothing changed with what I told them about what I feel where you are mentally (and) physically. I certainly understand how everything looks with the noise around this winter.
'The reality is that this is something that is under CBA, they know that the boys have this and you see it over time. But certainly I understand the look around him and the story around him.
“I even had communication with him last night, this morning, who is ready to go mentally and physically and, hopefully, be here in the next few days,” he continued.
Stroman is expected to be the strange man of the rotation of the Yankees, with another five competing for points. Gerrit Cole, Max Fried, Carlos Rodon, Luis Gil and Clarke Schmidt, if they are healthy, would constitute the rotation.
Despite the circumstances, teammates still speak very well of Stroman in the locker room.
“I've heard wonderful things about him as a teammate,” Fried said. “The boys in this club have only spoken brilliantly about him. I am really excited to meet him.”
Stroman spent his first six seasons with the Toronto Blue Jays and spent two years with the Mets and puppies before landing at Bronx.
