The Yankees can be without one of their best players for their first game of the MLB season next month, since the manager Aaron Boone revealed that Giancarlo Stanton is dealing with an injury to both elbows.
Speaking to journalists on Sunday since spring training, Boone said that the toleter was “a little behind” and taking care of an injury “similar to the tennis elbow” that he also fought during the past season.
Boone refused to provide a timeline for the player and was not sure if he would be healthy enough to adapt to the brewers on March 27.
“I was doing things, and then closed a little, he has been receiving treatments … so it's something we don't want to hurry,” he He said to journalists.
“If we can get to a really good place and know that we will probably have to deal with him throughout the year, but I don't want to force anything too early.”
Boone added that gardener Trent Grisham put the hamstrings “a few weeks ago”, but said he could run on Sunday at an almost complete speed.

Giancarlo Stanton could miss the beginning of the MLB season with a problem in his elbows

Manager Aaron Boone (seen at the beginning of this month) revealed the problem of the Stanton elbow on Sunday
Stanton has constantly fought for staying healthy since he joined the Yankees before the 2018 season.
After playing 158 of 162 games in his first season with the team, he played only 41 times in the next two seasons, which included the 2020 Corta Covid campaign.
At least 48 games have also been lost in each of the last three seasons.
However, Stanton appeared huge in the playoffs last season, since his seven homers and 16 ranked races helped the pintipes to arrive at the World Series.
The Yankees will need Stanton's batting power in the alignment after losing Juan Soto against the Mets in the low season.
