Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren says she has the definitive answer as to why Angel Reese deleted her Instagram on Thursday: She wanted another reason to keep eyes on her and away from Caitlin Clark.
The claim that Reese deleted Instagram just to get attention is bold, especially considering the Chicago Sky star has his Indiana Fever rival on his mind so much.
However, the jealousy that Lahren claims Resse has for her WNBA contemporary motivates all the actions she has been taking in her time on and off the court.
Clark and Reese have been at the forefront of women's basketball's rise in popularity since their college days at Iowa and LSU, respectively.
Now, after being part of last year's WNBA draft, they are two of the biggest stars in all of basketball.
Reese apparently deleted her Instagram after wearing a risqué outfit on New Year's Eve that caused chaos on the Internet.
Lahren believes Angel Reese deleted her Instagram to get Caitlin Clark's attention
Clark and Reese have been rivals on the court since their college days at Iowa and LSU.
Lahren's co-host Clay Travis said it doesn't make sense why Reese would post that outfit and not expect men to notice and judge.
'I don't understand that either. I don't think that really bothers him, I think he likes the attention, he enjoys the attention, that's why he does it,” Lahren added. “But he also says ridiculous things like that because he enjoys the attention.”
And I think every time Caitlin Clark gets attention, Angel Reese is in the corner and she's like, “Look at me, look at me!” And it will be for whatever reason. She used that and posted it to get people talking about her because she doesn't want people talking about Caitlin Clark.
And Caitlin Clark is one of the only female stars you won't see in a skimpy dress and I think that's another reason why the two are so different. I don't think you'll ever see that in Caitlin Clark. But Angel Reese wants to be a cultural icon, she wants to be Beyoncé and she wants us to talk about her and not Caitlin Clark.
Although Clark and Reese deny any personal animosity between the two and have more than just a rivalry within the confines of the WNBA, many people believe that the duo have a heated conflict due to how similar their career paths have been, with different results.
Neither Clark nor Reese have commented that the latter deleted her Instagram.
