Tottenham have provided an update on Rodrigo Bentancur after the Spurs star was stretchered off in the early stages of Tottenham's Carabao Cup semi-final clash against Liverpool on Wednesday.
The Uruguayan, who has just returned from suspension, started the match in midfield, although his night lasted just a few minutes before he fell to the ground in a worrying moment at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Tottenham started the game brightly and were preparing for an attacking corner with Bentancur in the area alongside several of his other teammates.
He dived to head in a corner taken by Pedro Porro, but appeared to land awkwardly, lying motionless on the pitch as play continued, with Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson forced into action.
However, it then became clear that Bentancur would need immediate medical attention, and doctors soon scrambled as the players urged them to hurry and tried to tend to Bentancur.
The 27-year-old received on-field treatment for nine minutes in total as he left the field on a stretcher to applause from both sets of fans.

The midfielder appeared to fall unconscious when doctors came to the field to treat him.
He received an oxygen mask and was eventually taken out on a stretcher by the medical team.
The Spurs posted an update on social media at halftime, revealing that Bentancur was being taken to hospital for further medical evaluation.
“We can confirm that Rodrigo is conscious, speaking and will go to hospital for further checks,” the north London club posted on X.
Liverpool responded by showing their support for Tottenham and the Uruguayan, posting: 'We are all thinking of you, Rodrigo. Speedy recovery.'
Bentancur had missed seven matches of domestic action before returning against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day. He continued playing in the Europa League.
He was suspended for a racist comment about his teammate and Spurs captain Son Heung-min, for which he apologized.
Tottenham appealed the decision and the player was also fined £100,000, but the decision was overturned and they had to manage without him for seven games. He also recently served a suspension from the Premier League for accumulating yellow cards.
Now, however, it looks like he will once again spend a long period on the sidelines following Wednesday's incident. It has not been clear what the problem was.

He had dived to take a corner, taken by Pedro Porro, and collapsed instantly, remaining motionless.
Footage showed how he had dived from an awkward angle to head the ball before hitting the cover.
They placed a blanket over him and he received loud applause from both fans.
His teammates tended to him before doctors came to the field to provide treatment.
The midfielder was photographed with his eyes open; no updated information on his condition has been provided.
He left the field after 15 minutes, having initially gone down after six minutes. The substitution was no substitute for the concussion, and he gave a thumbs up when he was taken off.
The midfielder was also covered with a blanket and was wearing an oxygen mask, although he was photographed with his eyes open.

If he misses any more games it will add to Tottenham's current injury crisis, which has seen several first-team players miss playing time.
First-choice goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario has been out of action since late November after undergoing ankle surgery, while Spurs have also been torn apart in defence.
They are currently without starting centre-backs Sergio Romero and Micky van De Ven, while substitute option Ben Davies is also missing.
Meanwhile, left back Destiny Udogie is expected to be sidelined until February with a hamstring problem.
