The NFL Pro Bowl fan voting period is officially over… and which player got the most love? None other than the Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The league just announced the results of the voting process, which ended on December 23rd Taylor Swifts friend took first place with a total of 252,200 entries.
Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs was a close second with 250,000… and a Washington Commanders rookie Jayden Daniels followed with 242K.
While his victory over Gibbs was only 2,118 votes, it's fair to speculate whether Kelce's girlfriend's fan base played a large role in the outcome, since statistically he didn't have the best season of his career.
With one week to go before the start of the 2024 season, Kelce has caught 97 passes for 823 yards and three touchdowns… meaning he's on track to record his second straight season without reaching the 1,000-yard mark.
It's an honor to be a fan favorite, but he may have to miss the event entirely… as the 35-year-old will likely be busy preparing for his third Super Bowl win.
Even if the Chiefs are eliminated in the postseason before the Big Game, he could still opt out of the Pro Bowl if he so chooses — after all, that would mean spending more time with Tay.
Kelce also felt the obvious Taylor effect last year… when he also finished in the top five in voting – which isn't particularly common for his position, not a smattering of tight ends.
To be completely fair, Kelce actually went third in 2022…well before Traylor ever mattered.
But being number one is a different story… So what are the benefits of dating one of the most famous women in the world?
