Tyler PerryHe feels sick watching the coverage of the Los Angeles fires… and finds the ability of insurance companies to cancel policies on a whim “appalling.”
The actor and producer posted on Instagram early Sunday morning… Writing a video of a woman staying in a mandatory evacuation zone to try to save her parents' home because their fire insurance was canceled shook him to the core.
A local emergency room nurse did everything she could to save her 90-year-old parents' home in Hastings Ranch as the Eaton Fire devastated the area.

Perry asks if anyone else finds it “appalling” that “insurance companies have been siphoning billions of dollars from communities for years and then suddenly are allowed to cancel millions of policies on the very people they got rich off of?”
Perry – one of the most generous celebs around – adds that he's currently thinking about what he can do to help the people of LA… So expect a donation and maybe more to help with the recovery efforts.
As you may know, insurance companies are under increased scrutiny as firefighters continue to battle L.A.'s devastating wildfires – particularly State Farm, which canceled more than 70,000 home insurance policies last year.
According to the San Francisco Chronicle, more than 70% of homes in the affluent Pacific Palisades area were affected by this cancellation…an area that was essentially completely destroyed by the Pacific Palisades wildfire.
The fires have also led to concerns about an insurance crisis in California … with fears that insurance companies will stop offering policies given the increasing threat of wildfires.
Sounds like Tyler Perry is openly questioning the insurance system… and many Californians will be doing the same in the coming months.
