Candace Parker may have risked angering Caitlin Clark fans by praising Chelsea Gray as the best point guard in women's basketball.
The three-time WNBA champion participated in the inaugural season of the Unrivaled 3-on-3 basketball league and analyzed the players when speaking about her former teammate and current Las Vegas Aces star.
Gray and Parker played together on the Los Angeles Sparks, where they captured the WNBA title in 2016. Given their history, the basketball legend knows Gray's standing as one of the best floor generals in WNBA history.
While foreshadowing the impact Gray would have on the Rose Basketball Club, Parker praised the Aces star as the “best point guard in the world” more than once.
Although the comment is not very appealing to true basketball fans, others reacted badly on social media, claiming that the title belongs to Clark.
“Candace Parker probably just pissed off an entire fan base before they even let us know.” one fan suggested along with three crying emojis.

Parker and Gray won a WNBA title together in 2016 before Gray won two more with the Aces.
Another Clark fan page referred to Parker as a clown in the comments.
Meanwhile, others came to Parker's defense and echoed her sentiments about Gray.
'Damn, can't she be biased by her own page without the ccclan losing their minds?' wrote one user.
“Yeah, but when you're right, you're right,” another added.
Although Clark inspired the WNBA's growing popularity after joining last season, she doesn't receive the same praise as the veteran Gray.
After winning the title in Los Angeles, Gray won two more with Las Vegas in 2022 and 2023. She was also named Finals MVP for her first championship in Sin City.
After Clark's monumental rookie season, he decided to leave the Unrivaled league to get some much-needed downtime in a busy 2024.
Clark went from leading Iowa to the NCAA Tournament Championship to becoming the No. 1 overall draft pick and attracting millions of viewers to the WNBA. His first season with the Fever ended when they were swept by the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the playoffs.
