- Wales was defeated 22-15 by Italy at the Olympic Stadio on Saturday afternoon
- That defeat was its 14th consecutive during a torrid race under Warren Gatland
- Gatland, who comes from New Zealand, is now ready to start from his role as a chief coach
Warren Gatland will stop his role as Wales chief coach after a series of 14 consecutive international losses, and it is likely that official confirmation comes from the Welsh Rugby Union later on Tuesday afternoon.
Gatland's second period at the most important work in the Welsh rugby has seen his team deliver the worst loss streak in the country's history, with the last bad result being a reversal of round 22-15 in the six nations at the hands of Rome in Rome last weekend.
Mail Sport understands that the back of that game of Stadio Olimpico, Gatland and the WRU will now separate from half of the championship.
