Sources have refused to confirm that the left-back, now 44, will face KSI, who has recently expressed his desire to get into the ring with Conor McGregor. However, they have revealed that Bridge is one of the names mentioned.
Bridge has fought before, defeating Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews in a charity fight seven years ago.
He hung up his boots in 2014 after a career that saw him win the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup with Chelsea. Bridge also played for Southampton, Fulham, West Ham, Sunderland and Brighton and earned 36 England caps. Those who know him say that he is in optimal condition.
London-born KSI, whose real name is Olajide Olatunji, has amassed millions of followers, released a rap album and oversees a number of business projects.

In October 2023, KSI welcomed the prospect of Bridge putting on the gloves when he appeared on Peter Crouch's podcast.
Crouch said: 'You know, if you ever need someone to step in, I know someone who is training all the time. So if you need someone last minute, Wayne Bridge.
Co-host Steve Sidwell, a former Reading midfielder, added: “Can anyone beat Bridge? He's an animal.
KSI responded, “If you're really interested in this, it sure would be great to have on Misfits.”
