Yvette Nicole Brown And Kym Whitley are behind the mayor of Los Angeles Karen Bass …say she's a woman of steel – and people unfairly criticize her because of her race.
We caught up with the two stars in LA on Saturday … and asked them about Mayor Bass' response to the devastating wildfires – because both vehemently supported Bass' candidacy for the post.
You have to watch the clip… YNB and KW are getting pretty worked up just thinking about the criticism Karen has received in the last few days.
Brown starts by saying that Karen has a spine of steel and that she's been a black woman in America for a long time… so shots like this are nothing new for her.
Whitley and Brown agree that people need to get behind their mayor… and think at least some of the criticism comes from ignorance about the different regions of LA – they point out that Malibu has its own mayor, so that Wildfire in Pacific Palisades do this cannot be laid at their feet alone.
Yvette ends the conversation by saying that there have been fires in LA for years… but in her 30 years in Los Angeles, she can't remember a mayor who raked over the coals like that was – and she hints at a lot of it. The reason for this is race.
The Palisades Fire is the largest of several fires to hit the city this week. More than 23,000 hectares have already burned… and it's expected to continue for some time.
Bass has faced attacks from prominent conservatives and even some well-known celebrities… including Khloe Kardashian WHO called her a “joke.”
